GLOBALLY GLAMOROUS
Designer Prabal Gurung lived in Singapore, Kathmandu, New Delhi, Melbourne and London before landing in New York. No wonder his clothes look so worldly. He refined his skills at Cynthia Rowley and Bill Blass before launching his eponymous collection. Introducing a favorite of the First Lady and 2011 winner of the CFDA Swarovski Award for Womenswear.

FAVORITE MOTHER’S DAY TRADITION: 

When I lived in Nepal I would celebrate mother’s day by going for lunch outside of Kathmandu with my mother, Durga Rana, and my siblings.  We would then go to a spa and spend the rest of the day there just eating, relaxing, chatting…it was a day of food for our mind, body and soul! 

Now I speak with my mother almost every day on my way to work and I love those moments.  Those calls have become a tradition in themselves, a modern “mother’s day” tradition in a way.
